VEO HD 80A Spotting Scope Starter Bundle

The Vanguard VEO HD 80A Smartphone Digiscoping Bundle brings together the accessories that allow you to observe and digiscope with your VEO HD 80A spotting scope.  

The Spotting Scope:

At the heart of the bundle is the VEO HD 80A spotting scope which boasts a lightweight yet durable composite carbon housing that is 38cm long, 18cm tall and 10cm across, and weighs just 1550g for maximum portability.

With an 80mm objective lens and a 20-60x zoom, it features extra low dispersion (ED) glass and BaK4 prisms that is fully multi-coated with Multiguard® 4 for a great optical experience.

It is also 100% waterproof and fog-proof, with two-step twist eyecups, a built-in sunshield, a large central focus adjustment wheel and a position-adjustment knob.

The Tripod:

To get the most from any spotting scope you need a tripod, and the bundle includes a VEO 3GO 265HAP aluminium travel tripod. This folds to 41cm and weighs just 1560g making it easy to transport, while extending to 162cm (122cm with the central column down for maximum stability) and holding up to 6kg.

On top it includes an Arca compatible VEO PH-20 2-way pan head. This means that the foot of the VEO HD 80A can slot directly into the clamp for the most secure hold. Alternatively, you can use the QS-71P quick release plate that is included and is designed specifically for spotting scopes with a non-twist spring pin. 

The Digiscope Adaptor:

The bundle includes our universal VEO PA-65 smartphone digiscope adaptor which simply slots onto the eyepiece and your smartphone (up to 90mm wide) and enables you to take captivating closeup shots or video, and share them straight to social media.

To avoid introducing shake when triggering the camera, it also includes a VEO BT-11 Bluetooth remote control that works with IOS and Android phones.

So What Next?

You're ready to go.  All you need to add to the mix is the location and your smartphone. Though you might want a new bag to carry the bundle. The bag is not included as we know everyone has their own preference for bags, but we'd recommend three options:

Short Journeys:   VEO Range 38 Shoulder Bag (17 litres)

The VEO Range 38 is available in blue or beige and can fit the spotting scope inside the top compartment, leaving a lower compartment free for the personal kit you need, while the tripod can be strapped on the front or bottom using the straps, which can also be used to carry a jacket.

Longer Journeys - Just The Bundle:   VEO Range T45M Backpack (16 litres)

For longer journeys, or maximum comfort, we'd always recommend a backpack. The VEO Range T45M is ideal with an interior that can be customised to carry the bundle inside, with a comfortable harness system and plenty of pockets. If you need more space inside, simply use the tripod holder and carry your VEO 3GO on the outside.  Available in black, blue and beige.
